Captain and lawyer
My name is Rick Hilgersom, I am captain and lawyer. I have been working as a commercial pilot and captain in civil aviation for 14 years. During these years I have worked for a number of national and international airlines and have been the pilot of a number of airplane types, such as Boeing B737, B757 and B767 as well as the Airbus A319 and A320.
Apart from my work I successfully completed my Masters Degree in Dutch Law and combine my broad operational and technical knowledge of aviation with a sound knowledge of Dutch Consumer Law. Partially due to European law, this legal field is of increasing importance. As such, in the event your flight was overbooked, you encountered long delays or cancellation of your flight, you – when certain conditions are applicable -, are entitled to receive a financial compensation and / or assistance from the airline. Together with my skilful employees I would be more than pleased to assist you with filing your claim and getting what you are entitled to on the basis of EC Regulation 261/2004.
Exactly the fact that our company has significant operational and technical aviation knowledge, ensures that we know how to value the airline’s possible claim on ‘force majeure’ or ‘special circumstances’! On aspects where the airline was given the benefit of the doubt in former days, we can now – based on years of practical experience – make an appeal against ‘force majeure’ and negate it.
